The Designo, LWT and Klimatec 160 Passive House loft ladders are certified by the Passivhaus Institute (certs. available on request). As such, they pass the strict requirements for passive building standards. Furthermore, the Klimatec 160 has the benefit of 30-minutes fire protection and a very high load rating of 250 kg per tread.
In addition to the Passivhaus certified loft ladders, our product range includes a number of loft ladders with exceptional thermal insulation. These include the Isotec 200 and Designo DD. The Designo DD features a special hatch box with an upper cover that can be closed immediately after entering the loft. Therefore, the upper cover prevents the flow of warm air into the loft space. As a result, this helps to lock the warmth in the building and also prevents moist air from flowing into the loft and condensing in the cold areas. Further details can be found below:

Insulated and airtight loft ladders…
Premier Loft Ladders offer a range of insulated loft ladders that are certified with Class 4 air permeability ratings. As such they prevent air leakage through the loft hatch and help keep in the warmth. Class 4 certified loft ladders include the Supreme (including standard, electric and EI230 fire rated versions), Ecco, MiniLine (EI230, F30 Plus and EI260 fire rated), Designo, Quadro, Cadet 3, ProfiLine (EI230, F30 Plus and EI260 fire rated), Isotec (EI230, EI260, EI290 and EI2120 fire rated) and Isotec 200 (EI260 fire rated).
Enhanced insulation with WDL insulation and sealing tape…
The Roto WDL insulation and sealing tape is a patented solution to ensure an airtight connection between the loft ladder hatch box and the building. The airtight seal helps to prevent the loss of warm air into the loft, therefore resulting in improved energy efficiency and reduced heating costs.
The WDL tape is pre-assembled to the Designo, Designo DD and Ecco loft ladders. Also, it can be ordered as an optional extra on other aluminium concertina stairs and wooden loft ladders. Contact us for further details.
