Conventional stairway with horizontal trapdoor

The Supreme stairway is supplied as a ready to fit unit comprising of a counter balance sprung aluminium alloy stairway manufactured from

high strength die-cast aluminium alloy components contained within, and attached to, a laminated wood trapdoor and lining.

Supreme and Supreme with weatherproof roof hatch - we are pleased to offer (as an optional accessory) the trapdoor finished with a 1.5 mm veneer (to the underside and edges) in Spruce, Beech, Maple, Ash, Carolina Pine or Oak. This is available for both the insulated and non insulated trapdoors.

Special features include the counter-balance spring for easy operation and non-slip treads. The Supreme is a strong, beautifully crafted stairway offering low maintenance with excellent durability.

The dimensions in the table below are only valid for the Supreme with wooden hatchbox with the 62 mm thick insulated trapdoor (U - value 0,58 W/m² K), manual operation, with a normal hinge and without a divided trapdoor.

ACCESSORIES   Telescopic Handrail >> this requires a ceiling opening of at least 1 metre   Top Operating Handle >> so that the stairway can be raised and lowered from above and below The standard maximum ceiling depth is 450 mm but a depth of 600 mm can be accepted as a special order. There must be 900mm of clear space behind the end (where the ladder unit is fixed - please see diagram) of the hatchbox to allow the handle to be operated. The maximum floor to ceiling height would be 4300 mm or perhaps up to 4600 mm subject to confirmation. Supreme Options   Vertical The Supreme stairway can also be used for access in vertical walls .   Supreme with vertical access. The maximum operating height is 3390 mm.

Electrically Operated The electrically operated stairway runs on 24V DC and is fully supplied with wiring, stand-by battery, transformer and operating switch. It is also possible to fit a further switch thereby allowing operation from above.   Weatherproof Roof Hatch A fully weatherproof hatch suitable for roof access is available.   Fire Resistant Casings We can offer the Supreme with a choice of fire resistant casings - a) the wooden hatchbox and trapdoor coated with pyroex to give a 30 minute fire resistance  or b) the steel hatchbox and trapdoor with either a 30 or 90 minute fire resistance.   Suspended ceiling The Supreme is suitable for use with suspended ceilings             Supreme with manual Hatch. The model is a Supreme with a manually operated weatherproof roof hatch plus a steel lower trapdoor fire resistant to 90 minutes.
